Here you will find the best teams according to their bowling strength and performance of bowlers. We have given best to worst rank to the team's according to their bowling performance so far in IPL 2020.
1.DELHI CAPITALS:
Delhi capitals as expected before the tournament performing exceeding well in the bowling department. Kagiso Rabada was doing well in previous editions but he was not getting the support from other DC bowlers. But this time Ricky Ponting and owners did a great job by picking Ashwin in a trade deal with King XI Punjab. In the Place of Chris Woakes, they picked Anrich Nortje just before the tournament was about to kick off. And now we all know these two players are performing for Delhi Capitals.
Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada, the two speedsters of DC are performing extremely well in power play and death overs as well. The two Pace bowlers have taken 31 combined wickets so far. Ashwin and Axar Patel are getting wickets as well as not giving too many runs. They also have good fifth bowling in the form of Tushar Deshpande, Harshal Patel and Marcus Stoinis. Their main strength is death bowling and spinners who are doing the right for them.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Kagiso Rabada | 19 | 7.68 |
Anrich Nortje | 12 | 7.75 |
Ravichandran Ashwin | 7 | 7.18 |
Axar Patel | 7 | 5.59 |
If any team can give competition to DC in the bowling department then it can only be Mumbai Indians. They have perfect t-20 pacers who have all skills. They have got Bumrah, Boult, James Pattinson and Nathan coulter-Nile in their bowling attack. These pacers can bowl anytime at any situation for Mumbai Indians and they all are wicket-takers.
In the spin bowling department, they are not as good as DC but still, Rahul Chahar is doing exceptionally well for MI as he has picked 11 wickets at the economy of 7.41. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult both have taken 27 wickets to combine. Their fifth bowler is also doing well for them which is Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard. Though Hardik Pandya not bowling is a drawback for MI but surely they are not missing it.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Jasprit Bumrah | 15 | 7.44 |
Trent Boult | 12 | 8.46 |
Rahul Chahar | 11 | 7.41 |
James Pattinson | 9 | 8.25 |
3.ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE:
Finally, after a long time, RCB gets a good bowling lineup which can win matches for them. RCB is finding themselves lucky as they got Morris instead of Cummins in the Auction for whom they are also bidding. Morris is doing really good work for RCB after missing the first 5 matches of the tournament. Till now in 4 Matches, Morris has taken 9 wickets with the economy of mere 5.25.
RCB's main bowler Yuzvendra Chahal is as always picking wickets at a crucial time for RCB and Washington Sundar troubling the batsmen because of his accurate line and length. RCB's only concern is their fifth bowling option in which Isuru Udana is doing extremely average with above 10 economy rate but picking big wickets. Navdeep Saini has done good work for RCB as he holds his nerve in the match against MI in super Over and gave only 7 runs. These things are showing that RCB has a really good combination of players in the bowling department.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Navdeep Saini | 4 | 8.12 |
Yuzvendra Chahal | 13 | 7.65 |
Isuru Udana | 7 | 10.09 |
Chris Morris | 9 | 5.25 |
4.SUNRISERS HYDERABAD:
Despite the injury of Bhuvneshwar Kumar SRH is doing well in the bowling department. Rashid Khan is wicket-taker for SRH and the biggest plus point for SRH is a form of Natrajan who has perfect workers with some really good pace. Because of injury of Bhuvaneswar Kumar, their death bowling has been became Slightly weaker but still they are a good job.
Khaleel Ahmed is taking a wicket for SRH and Sandeep Sharma is doing economical spells in the power play. Their main problem in bowling is the fifth bowler as they are not able to play Mohammad Nabi because of overseas players rules.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
T Natrajan | 11 | 8.47 |
Sandeep Sharma | 4 | 7.58 |
Rashid Khan | 11 | 5.53 |
Khaleel Ahmed | 8 | 9.74 |
5.CHENNAI SUPER KINGS:
Chennai Super Kings bowling has been pretty average till as they don't have any bowlers who can bowl at a serious pace. Their spinners also not doing a great job for them. Dwayne Bravo's injury hit them hard as he has been a death specialist for CSK for several years.
Deepak Chahar has been economical but not getting many wickets this season. Sam Curran is doing a good job. Last year's purple cap winner Imran Tahir didn't get a chance to play matches this season due to overseas players and that has impacted match results.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Deepak Chahar | 8 | 7.41 |
Shardul Thakur | 9 | 8.55 |
Sam Curran | 10 | 8.58 |
Dwayne Bravo | 6 | 8.57 |
6.RAJASTHAN ROYALS:
Whenever we hear Rajasthan Royal's bowling then the only name that comes to mind is Jofra Archer. And Jofra is in exceptional form this year. Whenever he comes to bowl he makes an impact. But the problem with RR is their other bowlers are not economical and not getting too many wickets.
Kartik Tyagi and Jofra Archer are doing good work but other bowlers are not that impactful and that is hurting the RR.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Jofra Archer | 12 | 6.95 |
Shreyas Gopal | 6 | 8.74 |
Kartik Tyagi | 5 | 8.53 |
Jaydev Unadkat | 4 | 9.91 |
7.KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS:
KKR got the costliest bowler in the auction which is Pat Cummins but if we see the performance of Pat Cummins it is lacklustre and he is not taking wickets and also not bowling in death overs. Only positives for KKR this year in bowling is Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti as they are doing good work. Kuldeep Yadav is not in the form and concerns with Sunil Narine is hurting KKR in bowling. Locke Furguson did a good job till now but KKR's bowling unit's overall performance is not up to the mark.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Pat Cummins | 3 | 8.42 |
Andre Russell | 6 | 9.72 |
Shivam Mavi | 7 | 8.95 |
Varun Chakravarthy | 7 | 7.31 |
8.KINGS XI PUNJAB:
Kings XI Punjab's bowlers are giving 14 runs per over in death overs which is the worst for any team for this season. Mohammad Shami is taking wicket but not economical and Cottrell is not impactful till now.
The only positive thing for KXIP is Ravi Bishnoi a teenager is doing sensational bowling in his first season of IPL. Changing the combination of bowling is also impacting their bowling as they are not giving consistent chances to the bowlers.
Bowler | Wickets | Economy |
Mohammad Shami | 14 | 8.6 |
Ravi Bishnoi | 9 | 7.91 |
Sheldon Cottrell | 6 | 8.8 |
Arshdeep Singh | 6 | 8.69 |
